At HTC, E-Safety is taken very seriously. At the start of every academic year students undergo a series of lessons based on E-Safety and how to protect themselves against the many threats that they can be exposed to.
Students are educated on a variety of areas within E-Safety. These include:-
- Setting secure passwords
- How to send emails
- How to take part in online discussion
- How to take action when things go wrong
- How to setup a personal web space safely
- How Wikis work
- Creating safe criteria for online communications
Currently at KS4, all students are also involved in a project called Think Click which involves a year long project based around E-Safety and its many areas.
As our children are now living in a digital world and are becoming digital natives within it, it has become increasingly important that as Educators, Parents and Carers we are aware of their activities and how we can protect them against possible threats.
Please see the links below for advice on how to protect your children on the many threats to their safety whilst they are online.
